Depends. If I was not allowed to kill anybody, then I'd need 1 billion to spend the year there and try and stay out of trouble. If they let me kill indiscriminately, then they could pay me $500K and provide free ammo and weapons for me to do my thing.

If someone would pay for my flights and accommodation and I could carry a side-arm I'd gladly go there without pay. Get an interview with Assad, write for publications too scared to send their own journalists, support the SAA. It would be a dream come true.
