I've been feeling really down lately? Help?

For the past few months, I've been a lot quieter than usual, I stay away from a lot of people, and I am just...sad I guess. This sounds like a rediculous reason to be upset, but my boyfriend (it was long distance) had wanted to take a break. He said it was 'kind of' a breakup, so I don't know if he's going to come back or not. We were really close, and knew each other for 2-3 months before we were together, and were together just over 2 months when he wanted a break. Everything seemed normal the day before so I was shocked with what he said. Anyway, since that happened I have been a lot sadder than usual. My friends ignore me for the most part and I often get ditched or excluded. It's gotten so bad that I have to try not to cry in school every day. I feel like all this sounds like a whiny teenage girl with stupid problems, but I just want to be happy again. And no, I do not self harm in case you were wondering. Ideas on how to fix this or what caused it? Thanks...
